DESIGN 200: Hunting Down Design (Con't)

The Barcelona chair : The name of the German designer is Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe, the chair was designed in 1929 and something interesting about the designer would be he often referred to his designs as "skin and bones" and he was often associated with the aphrorisms "less is more" and "God is in the details".

Knowlton School of Architecture's Library- The chair that I sat in Armchair 41 Chair. The designer is Alvar Aalto in 1931. The manufacturer is Artek. The magazine I was reading was a classic...Garden Design! lol

The Wexner Center- Peter Eisenman designed the building to appear disconnected from its surrounding structures and historical context. The designer was known for his deconstructiveness.

Philip Johnson- Designed the Mathmatic Tower he was mostly known for his famous designs using glass (ie. the glass house) which is not reflected in the Ohio State design of the Mathmatical Tower.

William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library- In August 2009 the William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library reopened after a 3 year renovations by Acock & Associates that cost 108.7$ million dollars. Restoring the historic 1913 building to meet students 21st century needs.
